About the area
College Services provides academic administration and technical support services to the University’s schools, including Heads of School, academic staff and research students. The team is committed to providing effective and efficient services in support of the Schools’ and University’s strategic objectives, with a focus on continuous improvement and best practice. The Casual Workforce Operations Team supports the College of Schools by delivering expert, compliant, and efficient casual employment operations. Through strong leadership, trusted partnerships, and continuous improvement, the team ensures consistent processes, reliable workforce data, and effective rostering and scheduling that enable schools to focus on teaching and learning excellence.
About the opportunity
Under general direction, provide support for the administrative management of rostering and scheduling casual academic staff within the College of Schools, ensuring timely and correct allocation of casual staff to activities/units.
Administer casual academic employment processes, including maintaining records, contracts, rosters and timesheets, and providing accurate advice on relevant policies, procedures and systems.
Provide high-quality administrative and coordination support across the College of Schools, including preparing meeting agendas and minutes, responding to complex enquiries, and liaising effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Contribute to continuous improvement of administrative workflows and practices, undertaking routine tasks, working across teams to deliver high-quality services in a changing environment and other duties to support efficient operations as directed.
About you
Year 12 or relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent demonstrated experience providing high-level administrative support, preferably within a higher education environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with superior attention to detail.
Exceptional organisational abilities and proven capacity to manage changing priorities and meet competing deadlines.
Demonstrate initiative and solve problems while providing high-quality customer service and effective ongoing support as part of a team.
High level of proficiency across digital platforms, including Microsoft Office 365, with advanced skills in data entry, spreadsheet management, organisational systems, and database administration.

Under general direction and with limited supervision, provide high level administrative support to College Services operations, with a particular focus on the scheduling, rostering, timesheet processing, and contracting of casual academic staff across the College of Schools.
Contribute actively to the establishment, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of systems, policies, and procedures that underpin the services and support delivered by the Casual Workforce Operations team.
Interpret, apply, and provide guidance on relevant policies and procedures, and prepare reports of a technical and operational nature.
Work collaboratively across teams to respond to enquiries, liaise with key stakeholders and departments, and provide authoritative advice to support the development and continuous improvement of university policies and procedures as required.
About you
Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent demonstrated experience providing high-level administrative support, preferably within a higher education environment.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with proven capacity to demonstrate initiative, work autonomously, and contribute productively both as a mentor and as a member of a collaborative team.
Demonstrated organisational capability, with a proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities with exceptional attention to detail and consistently meeting deadlines.
Strong research skills, with the ability to analyse information and prepare clear, concise reports.
High level of proficiency across digital platforms, including the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in word processing, data entry, spreadsheet management, organisational systems, and database administration.

About the area
The Office of Research is responsible for formulating and providing policy advice, and for developing and implementing procedures to effectively coordinate and administer externally and internally funded research. Within the Office of Research, the Research Operations Division is responsible for securing and administering research grants, industry sponsored research, and research fellowships, and the Post-Award Team supports the successful delivery of funded research by providing practical advice on contracts, funding management and compliance, including coordination of reporting, milestones and project lifecycle requirements.
About the opportunity

prepare template-based research collaboration and related agreements, escalating more complex matters as appropriate; and

About you
Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
Substantial relevant senior administrative experience in research grants at an appropriate level.
Ability to prepare and review contracts and provide input into less complex contracts.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex administrative and compliance matters clearly to non-specialist audiences. Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.

About the area
The Australian Centre for RNA Therapeutics in Cancer (ACRTC) is an RNA production and innovation node in Western Australia dedicated to developing cancer treatments. We aim to integrate RNA technology with cancer research strengths in Australia to translate discoveries into the clinic. We will bring together multidisciplinary groups involving RNA technologists, oncologists, consumers, and patients advocates to design, synthesise, test and improve RNA drugs; and tackle aggressive and hard to treat cancers as use cases to develop RNA drugs and platform approaches to treating cancers.
Funded by the Cancer Research Trust (CRT) in collaboration with UWA, Therapeutics Innovation Australia (TIA), the WA Government, Cancer Council of WA, Harry Perkins Institute, Telethon Kids Institute and Curtin University. The ACRTC includes a dedicated mRNA production facility (‘RNA Innovation Foundry, RIF’), funded through the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Scheme (NCRIS) to TIA. As the WA-node of a National network of TIA-supported RNA production facilities, the ACRTC will form a critical role in the National RNA ecosystem.
The ACRTC is hosted by the UWA School of Human Sciences.
