    • Total Remuneration $51,258 to $66,416 pa (including salary of $43,314 to $56,123 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)

    The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Sciences offers a wide range of vocational education and training certificates, alongside undergraduate and postgraduate degrees across a number of health disciplines.  The School is seeking a passionate and committed Associate Lecturer in Midwifery to join our academic team.

     

    This position contributes to high‑quality teaching within the Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) and related midwifery courses, delivered on campus and through online learning modes. You will support student learning through tutorials, practical and clinical sessions, assessment, and the development of engaging and contemporary learning materials.

     

    You will contribute to the teaching effort of the School as well as maintain and develop your scholarly, research and/or professional practice relevant to the discipline. Teaching duties will be undertaken with a high standard of planning, preparation, delivery and assessment to ensure students achieve unit and course objectives.

    Position Requirements

     

    Essential:

     

    • Current registration as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (Ahpra).
    • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in midwifery.
    • A minimum of three years’ full-time, or equivalent, clinical midwifery experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to teach and supervise undergraduate university students.
    • Understanding of contemporary professional, clinical and educational issues relevant to higher education.
    • In-person liaison with industry partners and students undertaking clinical placements, including driving reasonable distances and occasional overnight stays.
    • Willingness to engage in research and scholarly activities, including publications, conference participation, research grant activity, and contribution to research teams.
    • Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in midwifery.

     

    Desirable:

     

    • Experience in unit coordination within a higher education setting.
