Job Description:
Part-time, fixed-term position for up to 12 months.
Base salary will be in the range $106,709 - $116,198 + 17% super (HEW Level 7).
Based at our Herston Campus location.
About This Opportunity
Join a growing and high-performing team within UQ’s Clinical Trials Centre and help shape the future of clinical research. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development of a pioneering adaptive platform trial that has the potential to transform the way clinical trials are designed and embedded into real-world healthcare settings. Working closely with the Chief Investigator, work package leads and multidisciplinary collaborators, you will contribute to the establishment of innovative trial infrastructure, support evidence-based decision-making, and help deliver meaningful research outcomes with lasting impact.
As Principal Project Officer, you will drive project planning and execution by coordinating a diverse range of strategic and operational activities while engaging with clinicians, researchers, executive stakeholders and project sponsors. You will thrive in a collaborative environment where innovation, excellence and purpose-driven work come together to create positive change.
Key responsibilities will include:
Coordinating the planning and development of a complex adaptive platform trial, ensuring project milestones, timelines and objectives are achieved.
Developing and managing a broad range of project documentation, including project plans, protocols, ethics submissions, participant information and consent forms, reports, briefing materials and stakeholder communications.
Establishing and maintaining effective communication and engagement channels between project teams, clinicians, investigators, sponsors, executive stakeholders and project governance committees.
Supporting project governance, budget oversight, financial reporting, resource allocation and stakeholder engagement activities to ensure successful project delivery.
About You
You are an experienced project professional with a passion for delivering high-impact initiatives in complex environments. You enjoy building strong relationships, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and driving projects from concept to implementation. Adaptable, organised and solutions-focused, you bring the confidence and capability to manage competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
A bachelor's degree with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training. Previous clinical experience will be highly regarded.
Demonstrated experience providing advanced project coordination and/or administrative support within a complex organisational environment.
Proven clinical trial management experience across a range of trial methodologies.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and achieve outcomes within tight deadlines.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and manage sensitive or confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
Demonstrated experience preparing high-quality reports, submissions, briefing papers, presentations, committee papers and general correspondence.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgement and escalate issues where appropriate.
A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a high-performing team.
