- Be part of establishing AUT’s new state-of-the-art Clinical Simulation Suite supporting the education of New Zealand’s future health workforce.
- Lead the implementation, commissioning and optimisation of advanced clinical simulation technologies in a newly developed facility.
- Permanent, full-time role based primarily at AUT’s North Campus (Akoranga).

The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to play a pivotal role in establishing and operating AUT’s new Clinical Simulation Suite.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Technical Services, you will provide specialist technical expertise supporting simulation-based education across the Faculty, initially focused on Nursing while enabling future multidisciplinary use. Working alongside academic staff, ICT, Estates and external vendors, you will lead the commissioning, operation and continuous improvement of advanced clinical simulation technologies, ensuring the facility is safe, reliable, innovative and ready to support teaching and learning.
You will contribute to equipment procurement, installation, systems integration, development of operational procedures, technical training, asset management and quality improvement while providing expert advice on simulation technologies and emerging best practice. This role will directly support AUT’s commitment to technology-enabled learning, student success and Te Aronui by helping create inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments that prepare graduates for contemporary healthcare practice.

- Significant experience supporting clinical simulation, healthcare technologies or other complex technical environments.
- Demonstrated experience commissioning, maintaining and troubleshooting sophisticated technical systems and specialist equipment.
- Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical services.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational and project implementation skills.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in health technology, biomedical engineering, clinical simulation, science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and support for AUT’s Te Aronui framework and Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitments.
