    About This Opportunity

    The University of Queensland (UQ) Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) is seeking an experienced and purpose-driven Veterinary Clinical Educator in Diagnostic Imaging to contribute to both high-quality clinical service delivery and innovative veterinary education at the Gatton Campus.

    Working within a collaborative, high-performing environment, you will play a pivotal role in integrating diagnostic imaging expertise into the Bachelor of Veterinary Science program while supporting a culture of excellence, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

    Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

    • Provide high quality, relationship-centred veterinary services within the diagnostic imaging service, ensuring strong clinical governance and professional communication with clients and referring veterinarians.

    • Lead the delivery of diagnostic imaging teaching across the BVSc program, including clinical rotations, practical teaching, case-based learning, and assessment.

    • Provide clinical leadership, mentoring and support to veterinary students, interns, and junior clinical staff, fostering a student-centred learning environment.

    • Contribute to the effective operation and continuous improvement of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and diagnostic imaging service, including service planning and collaboration with academic and clinical colleagues.

UQ VETS Equine Hospital is largely referral-based hospital with advanced facilities and offers a 24-hour emergency medical and surgical service. UQ VETS Small Animal Hospital boasts the latest in veterinary medical and surgical diagnostic and treatment options for small animals, birds, exotic pets and wildlife, as well as a 7-day urgent and emergency Care service. UQ staff also supervise clinical placements at the RSPCA’s Brisbane Animal Care Campus, Wacol.

    About You

    • A Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent degree, with eligibility for registration as a Veterinary Practitioner in Queensland, and at least four years of relevant experience.

    • Demonstrated experience in veterinary clinical service delivery, including diagnostic imaging services for animal patients.

    • Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Diagnostic Imaging, or significant progress towards this qualification, or equivalent experience and training.

    • Proven ability to deliver high-quality clinical teaching, with a strong commitment to student-centred learning and education.

    • Ability to work independently while managing competing clinical and teaching priorities in a dynamic environment.

    • Demonstrated relationship-centred approach to veterinary care, building effective partnerships with clients and healthcare teams.

    • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and external stakeholders.

    • Commitment to maintaining professional currency and contributing to innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and clinical practice.
