About This Opportunity
The Queensland Commitment (TQC) is UQ’s whole-of-university commitment to increasing access, participation and success in higher education for Queenslanders.
As Manager, Project Governance and Delivery, you will play a pivotal role in driving implementation of The Queensland Commitment Roadmap, identifying, translating and advancing strategic priorities into coordinated action and measurable outcomes across the University. Working at the intersection of governance, delivery and educational equity, you will help shape initiatives that broaden participation, remove barriers to higher education and create lasting impact for learners and communities across Queensland.
This is a highly collaborative and influential role, partnering with senior leaders, governance committees and stakeholders across UQ to drive implementation, monitor progress, identify emerging trends and strengthen the University's capacity to deliver meaningful institutional and cultural change.
In this role, you will have an opportunity to be part of a collaborative, inclusive and impact-driven environment, where your governance, delivery and sense-making capability will help strengthen institutional change and create lasting outcomes for students and communities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading implementation planning, roadmap tracking and delivery coordination for The Queensland Commitment, ensuring priorities are translated into clear actions, milestones and outcomes.
- Supporting effective governance and reporting across program committees, including preparing board papers, coordinating agendas, monitoring progress and identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
- Building trusted and collaborative relationships with senior leaders, academic and professional staff, external partners, donors, community stakeholders and project contributors.
- Driving high-quality project management, including project documentation, budget management, risk registers, performance monitoring, communications planning and stakeholder engagement.
About You
You will demonstrate:
- Postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications, in Business, Project Management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant workplace experience.
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing medium to large projects in a complex organisational environment.
- Strong understanding of project management tools, methodologies and practical approaches for monitoring progress, risks, dependencies, milestones and deliverables.
- High-level interpersonal, liaison and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across senior, cross-functional and community-facing stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated organisational capability, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities, tight timeframes and multiple moving parts.
- Experience preparing clear governance materials, reports, briefs, agendas and communications that support informed decision-making.
- A thoughtful and values-led approach to educational equity, widening participation, community engagement or supporting disadvantaged learners.
- Experience working in a university, tertiary education, research, public sector or similarly complex mission-driven environment would be highly valued.
