    The team

    The Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) is a long-standing unit of the University which offers a system of graded music and speech examinations and supportive publications related to its syllabus and examinations. The AMEB examines several thousand candidates in Music and Speech annually engaging approximately 90 examiners. AMEB supports approximately 1,000 teachers across South Australia and the Northern Territory.

    Experience

    To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience:

    • Leading and developing a high-performing team, fostering a culture of service excellence, continuous improvement, and professional growth
    • Managing all aspects of the Australian Music Examinations Board examination process, including scheduling, notifications, record keeping, certification, and complaints resolution
    • Overseeing financial management, including budget preparation, fee setting, receipting, balancing, and ongoing monitoring to ensure financial viability
    • Supporting the School Leadership team through effective financial planning, monitoring and reporting to ensure financial transparency, proactive management of budget pressures, and the long-term financial sustainability of the AMEB and Elder Conservatorium
    • Manage staff recruitment, induction, compliance, ongoing training, and performance development
    • Support and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen partnerships between the AMEB, the Elder Conservatorium and the broader music education sector in South Australia
    • Contribute to the development and delivery of shared strategic objectives for AMEB SA & NT and the Elder Conservatorium by identifying and facilitating opportunities for collaboration, growth and sector engagement
