    About This Opportunity  

    Join a collaborative and purpose-driven team within Information Technology Services where your work directly contributes to enabling a more responsive, secure and future-ready university. As a Principal Project Officer, you will play a key role in coordinating the successful delivery of complex, enterprise-wide technology projects that support UQ’s digital transformation. Working closely with the Project Manager and diverse stakeholders, you will help create meaningful change through the implementation of modern systems, including a complaints management platform and the migration of legacy web assets to contemporary environments.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Coordinating project life cycle activities including planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting to achieve timely and high-quality outcomes.

    • Managing project risks, issues, dependencies and scope changes in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

    • Developing high-quality project documentation, communication materials and reporting frameworks for internal and external stakeholders.

    • Leading stakeholder engagement activities and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with clients, project teams and external partners.

    About You   

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and subsequent experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

    • Proven experience in coordinating or managing projects of similar scale and complexity.

    • Strong knowledge of contemporary project management methodologies and frameworks.

    • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and deliver outcomes within tight deadlines.

    • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex situations and provide sound advice.

    • Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and compelling project documentation.

    • Experience working in a higher education or similarly complex organisational environment is highly regarded.
