Why Your Role Matters:
UNSW is seeking an experimental chemist to undertake research and related teaching activities of the School of Science, UNSW Canberra. This is a great opportunity to join at a time of growth for the campus, with UNSW recently investing in new teaching and research infrastructure for the chemistry discipline. The role will be involved in advancing the School’s international profile by conducting scholarly research, contributing to the supervision of research students, and teaching in a range of undergraduate and
postgraduate courses offered by the School.
Who You Are (skills and experience):
- PhD in Chemistry (or a closely related experimental chemistry discipline) with expertise that complements and strengthens the School’s research and teaching profile.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, curriculum design and course delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, including the effective use of contemporary pedagogical approaches, educational technologies and online learning.
- Strong commitment to student success, equity, diversity and inclusion, with the ability to engage, support and inspire students from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Established or emerging track record of high-quality research, including scholarly publications, research leadership, supervision of higher degree students, and the ability to develop and sustain a successful research program.
- Ability to build productive relationships with colleagues, industry and professional networks, and contribute positively to a collaborative, multidisciplinary teaching and research environment.
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the broader academic community.
