    Casual pay rate: $88.02/hr plus super

    Location: Melbourne (Bundoora) campus – on site Health Clinic

    Job Description

    We are seeking expressions of interest from paediatric Occupational Therapists who would like to be considered for casual Clinical Educator positions at the La Trobe Health Clinic at our Bundoora campus.

    We are currently seeking casual educators to support student clinical placements in the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and Master of Occupational Therapy Practice programs.

    The La Trobe Health Clinic is a teaching, learning and research clinic that provides occupational therapy services to the community through dedicated facilities on the Bundoora campus of La Trobe University. The clinic is student-led, providing progressive scaffolding of students' occupational therapy skills while delivering high-quality clinical services to the community and fostering a supportive learning environment that enables students to progressively develop their professional competencies.

    Clinical Educators will work with groups of students to deliver evidence-based occupational therapy services to children presenting with developmental, sensory processing and motor coordination challenges.

    Orientation to the La Trobe Health Clinic and the student placement program will be provided prior to the commencement of placements.

    Clinical Educators will be required to attend the La Trobe Health Clinic on site for each placement day.

    Job Requirements

    Applicants will demonstrate:

    • A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
    • Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
    • A current Victorian Working with Children Check and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain these prior to commencement.
    • Demonstrated experience in evidence-based assessment and intervention for children with developmental, sensory processing and motor coordination challenges.
    • Proven ability to deliver child- and family-centred practice, including collaborative goal setting, intervention planning, and partnership with caregivers and educators.
    • Demonstrated ability to support children's participation across home, school and community environments through functional, occupation-based interventions.
    • Experience in, and commitment to, high-quality student education and clinical supervision.
    • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively within small teams.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

    Casual Staff Availability

    Casual opportunities are available as required, subject to placement demand and staff availability. Opportunities of two to three days per week, and potentially full-time blocks during 2026, may be available.

    Placement Dates

    Early September to late October 2026 (8-week placement block), with the potential for additional casual opportunities in 2027.
