Full-time, Permanent with Base salary in the range of $106,709- $116,198 + 17% super (HEW Level 7)
Based at our Vibrant St Lucia Campus.
About This Opportunity
Join a dedicated student support team delivering urgent mental health care, triage functions, and student safety coordination. The Mental Health Advisor focuses on supporting students with complex or sensitive needs, while also contributing to programs, initiatives, and service improvements that enhance student wellbeing, safety, and inclusion across UQ.
Key responsibilities will include:
Provide trauma-informed response services to support students’ wellbeing
Assess risk and need to coordinate tailored care for complex student needs
Deliver expert advice on student safety, welfare, and mental health
Design and lead initiatives that enhance wellbeing and inclusion
Drive service improvements through data, insight, and innovation
About You
Relevant degree (e.g. psychology, social work) + 4+ years experience
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build trust and rapport
Experience managing complex, sensitive, or high-risk cases
Ability to apply policy, legislation, and ethical frameworks
Sound judgement, problem solving, and risk assessment skills
Ability to manage workload and competing priorities effectively
Strong written skills for reports, case notes, and documentation
Collaborative approach with multidisciplinary teams
