As a Clinic Officer within a vibrant, student-led dental clinic at Herston, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth, efficient daily operations while delivering a welcoming and high-quality experience for patients, students, and staff. Working closely with the Clinic Manager and broader team, you will be part of a connected network committed to excellence, service, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities will include:
Coordinating day-to-day clinic operations, including patient scheduling and administrative workflows to support teaching and clinical requirements
Delivering professional, patient-focused reception services and ensuring a seamless and positive clinic experience
Maintaining accurate records and supporting the effective use of the clinic’s practice management systems, including quality data entry oversight
Supporting financial processes such as invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and procurement in line with University policies
This is a full-time, continuing position at HEW Level 4.
About You
You are an organised, empathetic and service-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You bring a strong sense of accountability and take pride in creating positive experiences for patients and colleagues alike.
You will demonstrate:
Completion of a diploma level qualification or Certificate IV, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
Proven experience in a dental or healthcare setting, with a strong focus on reception and administrative functions
High level proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office and practice management software
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic clinical environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with diverse patients, students, and staff
A professional, courteous approach and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing operational needs
An understanding of financial processes such as billing, receipting, and reconciliations
Experience with EFTPOS and HiCAPS claims, and familiarity with dental terminology and treatment processes, will be highly regarded.
