    We are looking for an organised, analytical, and customer-focused Scholarships Adviser to join our collaborative Scholarships Office team.

    This is a rewarding opportunity to play an important role in supporting student success. As a Scholarships Adviser, you'll assess applications, provide expert advice to students and staff, and help administer a diverse portfolio of scholarships, prizes, and awards worth more than $90 million each year.

    No two days are the same. You'll work with a variety of stakeholders across the University, interpret scholarship regulations, manage online application processes, and contribute to continuous improvements that enhance the student experience.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Assessing scholarship applications and determining eligibility in accordance with scholarship regulations
    • Researching applications and preparing recommendations for scholarship awards
    • Providing accurate and timely advice to prospective and current students, University staff, and other stakeholders on scholarships, prizes, and awards
    • Managing scholarship application processes and maintaining accurate student records
    • Supporting the development and maintenance of online scholarship applications and systems
    • Building positive relationships with faculties, Alumni Relations, donors, and funding organisations
    • Contributing to process improvements and supporting the ongoing development of Scholarships Office systems and procedures
    • Assisting with training and supporting colleagues during peak scholarship periods

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team where your work directly contributes to helping students achieve their educational goals.

    The role is a full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week position on an 18-month fixed-term contract. The salary range of this role is $63,600 - $68,100 per annum based on experience and qualifications.

    Ngā pūkenga motuhake | Important skills and experience

    • Experience in an administrative or advisory role, ideally within a tertiary education environment
    • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
    • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Confidence using Microsoft Office and student management systems

    The following would be beneficial:

    • Experience working with scholarship administration or student funding
    • Knowledge of University administrative processes
    • Experience using PeopleSoft or similar student management systems
