    Event Services Manager

    • Employment Type: Full Time (35 hours per week)
    • Duration: Continuing
    • Remuneration: Level 8 from $132,445 + 17% super + leave loading
    • Location: UNSW Kensington Campus, NSW (hybrid)

    Why Your Role Matters:

    As Event Services Manager, you will lead the Client Services unit within Venue and Event Services (VES), shaping how UNSW engages with internal and external stakeholders through exceptional event and client experiences.

    This is a leadership role that sits within the broader Strategic Events team at UNSW. As a high-performing and strategic individual, you will be focused on stakeholder engagement, relationship management and developing an engaged and strong performing team. Working closely with a broad range of stakeholders across UNSW, you’ll provide trusted advice on event strategy, stakeholder engagement and public relations initiatives that strengthen UNSW’s reputation and maximise the impact of its events.

    Working across a diverse portfolio of venues, you’ll oversee the successful delivery of meetings and events whilst building team capability. You’ll drive continuous improvement and innovate practices, identify opportunities to maximise engagement and enhance the reputation of UNSW.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing Client Services unit, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and innovation to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
    • Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing strategic advice on event planning, stakeholder engagement and event related communications.
    • Drive client engagement and business development through proactive relationship management exceptional service delivery and identifying opportunities to enhance engagement and strengthen the value of the Strategic Events team.
    • Collaborate across the University to deliver a range of events, integrated event communications and public relations activities that enhance audience engagement and achieve organisational goals.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing systems, processes and reporting, while monitoring service utilisation and financial performance to supporting strategic decision-making.
    • Oversee the planning and delivery of strategic, complex and high-profile events across UNSW's venue portfolio, ensuring seamless execution from concept to completion.

    While you have significant experience delivering complex events, your real strength lies in stakeholder engagement, leadership, communications and creating lasting impact.

    You'll bring:

    • Demonstrated experience building trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders and providing strategic advice in complex environments.
    • Proven leadership experience with a demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, developing and motivating high-performing teams.
    • Experience leading customer-focused service teams and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Strong communications and stakeholder engagement capability.
    • Experience implementing new systems, improving business processes and driving operational excellence.
    • Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting, reporting and business performance management.
    • Proven experience leading complex meetings and events across multiple stakeholders and venues.

    Knowledge of venue operations, event logistics and service delivery.
