    About This Opportunity 

    This is an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer (Teaching Focused) in Computer Systems Programming to shape the next generation of engineers through innovative, high-impact teaching. You will play a pivotal role in leading course coordination and elevating the student learning experience, working within a collaborative and intellectually vibrant academic community.

    At the heart of this role is the chance to inspire curiosity, creativity and critical thinking while contributing to forward-thinking curriculum design that reflects the evolving demands of industry and society. You will join like-minded colleagues who are passionate about excellence in teaching and committed to creating meaningful, real-world learning experiences for students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

    In this role, you will:

    • Lead engaging and high-quality teaching in computer systems programming, shaping curriculum, assessment and delivery across lectures, tutorials and course coordination
    • Champion innovative teaching approaches, including digital and immersive learning, to enhance student engagement and success
    • Contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning through collaborative, practice-led projects that influence how education is delivered
    • Build strong connections within and beyond the University, supporting student success while contributing to academic service, partnerships and a thriving academic culture

    About You 

    You are an inquisitive and collaborative academic who is passionate about shaping student learning experiences and advancing teaching practice.

    You will bring:

    • A PhD or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a closely related discipline
    • Demonstrated expertise in computer systems, computer systems programming, and embedded systems, with the ability to contribute to advanced engineering courses
    • An emerging profile of teaching excellence and/or education-focused scholarship within the discipline
    • Experience contributing to curriculum development and improving pedagogical or assessment practices
    • Evidence of, or potential for, supervising honours or higher degree research students
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
    • A commitment to inclusive teaching practices and supporting diverse student cohorts
