    • Career Development

    • This position is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates only, as a genuine occupational requirement as the role requires applying Indigenous perspectives and providing culturally informed advice to deliver inclusive career development programs.

    • Full-time, Fixed-term position for up to 3 years with Base salary in the range of $97,268 - $104,348 + 17% super (HEW Level 6)

    •  Based at our Vibrant St Lucia Campus.

    Join a high-impact, 3-year funded initiative transforming inclusive, digitally enabled career development at UQ. As a Learning Designer – Career Development, you’ll bring together Indigenous knowledge, learning design, and employability to co-create meaningful, culturally responsive learning experiences with academic and professional teams.

    You’ll reimagine and elevate career development programs, resources, and digital learning modules, driving real impact for students and shaping more inclusive outcomes. This is your chance to make a lasting difference, collaborating across diverse stakeholders to deliver better futures for students and communities.

    Key Responsibilities Will include:

    • Champion the integration of Indigenous perspectives, shaping inclusive and culturally responsive career development programs

    • Collaborate with academic and professional teams to co-design impactful learning experiences for diverse student cohorts

    • Lead the creation of engaging digital learning resources, from online modules to innovative platforms and content

    • Provide trusted advice on embedding Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing into student engagement and employability initiatives

    • Drive continuous improvement by evaluating programs, using insights to enhance accessibility, impact, and student outcomes

    About You   

    The University of Queensland considers that to perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld). The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence to confirm that they are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. 

    • Completion of an undergraduate degree, with three to four years’ experience in a relevant area or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training

    • Proven experience embedding Indigenous perspectives and culturally responsive approaches into learning design or program development

    • Strong capability in digital learning design, including experience working with platforms such as LMS and online content tools

    • The ability to collaborate across diverse teams and influence stakeholders in complex environments

    • Experience managing multiple projects and using data to drive continuous improvement

    • An understanding of higher education and student employability initiatives (desirable).
