- Base salary range: $104,243 – $115,661 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The Directorate of Student Life and Community sits within the Education and Student Experience Portfolio, overseen by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education and Student Experience). Student Life and Community play an integral role in the shared strategic goal of providing a world-class student experience.
The Directorate comprises five core divisions: the Student Conduct and Resolution Centre, Student Engagement and Belonging, Student Equity and Accessibility, Student Health and Wellbeing, and UWA Sport. The Directorate delivers an integrated suite of services and initiatives across the student lifecycle, including programs and activities that promote access and participation at UWA, foster inclusion, belonging and community connection, support safety, health and wellbeing, advance equity and accessibility, encourage positive student conduct and early resolution pathways, and enhance engagement in learning, university life, and leadership.
The Directorate works in close partnership with the student Guild, student associations, affiliated residential colleges, and the broader Education and Student Experience portfolio to ensure an integrated, student-centred approach aligned with UWA’s strategic priorities and values.
The Student Conduct and Resolution Centre (SCRC) works collaboratively across the University to promote integrity, accountability, respectful behaviour and a safe, inclusive community. Reporting to the Director, Student Life and Community, SCRC is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational management of the University’s complaint resolution and student conduct framework.
SCRC delivers student-centred, trauma-informed and educative approaches to complaint resolution and conduct management, including early intervention, restorative mediation and alternative resolution pathways where appropriate. SCRC also supports the consistent application of University policies and standards, promotes procedural fairness and contributes to initiatives that strengthen community wellbeing, safety, accountability and institutional integrity.

About you
- Demonstrated experience in complaint handling, case management or a similar environment requiring sound judgement and procedural fairness.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively across diverse groups.
- Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism, empathy and clarity.
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and manage complex caseloads.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality, student-centred outcomes.
