    Job Description:

    • Employment Type: Full Time, 2-year Fixed Term role
    • Location: Kensington, NSW – Flexible Working Conditions

    Project and Role Overview

The Business Optimisation Strategy (BOS) Program is seeking experienced professionals across the Business Analyst function to drive a large-scale ERP transformation. These roles are critical in ensuring the University is fully prepared to adopt new systems and realise long-term strategic benefits. The focus is on designing and executing program lifecycles to ensure that complex organisational changes are clearly understood and sustainably embedded across both academic and professional staff.

As BOS mobilises, UNSW requires a senior leader with deep expertise in end-to-end Finance service delivery, master data design, and core processes like reporting and planning. This role serves as the accountable Finance expert for ERP and Service Management implementation, ensuring systems are compliant, efficient, and aligned with best practice.

The Lead will influence program direction, head business-facing transformation, and ensure the future operating model meets the needs of the UNSW community. Additionally, the role supports benefit delivery and the transition to BAU. This is a defining opportunity to build the Finance function that will underpin UNSW’s talent attraction for the next decade.

The BOS Finance Business Lead reports to the Program Manager – Finance and manages five direct reports.

    Project Engagement and Substantive Roles

The BOS Project offers a variety of term-length positions, including both fixed-term and continuing opportunities. We understand that internal employees may wish to explore a fixed-term engagement within BOS with the intention of eventually returning to their current position.

If you are considering this path, please note that it is the employee's responsibility to have an initial discussion with their current manager. This ensures your interest in a BOS role aligns with your existing contract and confirms whether a return to your substantive position is feasible at the conclusion of the project engagement.

    About The Opportunities

We recognise the exceptional talent within our internal community and are committed to giving priority consideration to our own staff for these opportunities. We value the deep institutional knowledge and expertise you bring to the University and encourage you to explore how your skills can contribute to this critical transformation.

    Responsibilities and Skills

    The successful candidate will be expected to posses the following skills and undertake the following duties within the role;

    • Serve as the senior Finance voice within the BOS program, ensuring all design decisions align with UNSW’s service lifecycle and higher education compliance standards.
    • Take accountability for the end-to-end design and delivery of Oracle Cloud ERP capabilities, including Source to Pay, Project Management, and Budgeting.
    • Lead the transition from legacy PeopleSoft configurations to the future-state Oracle Cloud environment, managing all integrations and satellite systems.
    • Shape the future Finance operating model, defining service workflows, role profiles, delegation frameworks, and escalation pathways.
    • Direct multidisciplinary teams and vendor partners, fostering a culture of delivery excellence, resilience, and trust.
    • Engage and influence senior academic and professional leaders to build consensus on delivery approaches, risks, and issue resolution.
    • Partner with organisational change teams to drive awareness and adoption of new Finance systems across the broader University community.
    • Monitor program performance and baseline measures to ensure business value is achieved and sustained through the transition to BAU.
    • Apply over 10 years of experience in enterprise-wide Finance solutions and large-scale Oracle Fusion transformations to navigate program complexity.
    • Produce high-quality executive briefings and governance materials that translate complex ERP data into actionable strategic insights.
