The Indigenous Education & Research Centre (IERC) is seeking an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Administrative Officer to provide high‑quality, culturally grounded administrative support to staff, students and community partners. If you thrive in a busy environment, enjoy helping people and want to contribute to positive outcomes for Indigenous learners and researchers, this role is for you.
About the role
You’ll deliver professional, customer‑focused administrative services that keep the Centre running smoothly. Your day will include preparing documents and correspondence, coordinating schedules and diaries, managing enquiries, supporting communication across the Centre, and contributing to continuous improvement of processes and service quality.
What you’ll bring

Strong communication skills and the ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.

Confidence using Microsoft Office and administrative systems.

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage high volumes of enquiries.

Strong organisation and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a supportive team.

A current Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain one quickly) is required.

Occasional travel within Queensland, including overnight stays, may be required.
