    The Vice-Chancellor’s Office at AUT supports the Vice-Chancellor in leading the university and advancing AUT’s strategic direction. It helps coordinate high-level university priorities, governance, executive decision-making, and key relationships across AUT and with external stakeholders. 

    It also plays a role in supporting leadership communications, strategic initiatives, and engagement with government, sector, community, and industry partners. In practice, it helps ensure the Vice-Chancellor’s work is well organised, connected to AUT’s goals, and aligned with the university’s overall vision and strategy. 

    The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi  

    This is a dynamic and collaborative role supporting the implementation of AUT’s Strategic Partnerships & Alumni Engagement Plans. You’ll coordinate impactful partnerships, manage alumni communications, and steward relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Strategic Partnerships & Alumni Manager, you’ll be instrumental in delivering initiatives that celebrate and connect AUT’s alumni and partners.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and support strategic partnership and alumni initiatives.
    • Manage AUT’s alumni social media presence and CRM communications.
    • Maintain the team’s annual calendar of projects and activities.
    • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external partners.
    • Support special projects and contribute to continuous improvement.

    To be successful in this role, you will have: 

    • Tertiary qualification.
    • Experience in sponsorship and/or marketing communications.
    • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in digital tools and content creation.
    • A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and supportive of AUT’s Te Aronui journey.

    Desirable:

    • Experience in tertiary education or large organisations.
    • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and principles of diversity and inclusion.
