    Research Associate (Chemistry)

    • Work at the forefront of clean energy innovation, contributing to carbon capture and sustainable minerals processing.

    • Full-time (1 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 18 months.
    • Base salary: Level A, step 8, $112,371 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

    About the opportunity

    • Contribute to a translational research program in clean energy and decarbonisation, supporting low-emissions technologies.
    • Design and conduct experiments, analyse data, and contribute to peer-reviewed publications and conference outputs.
    • Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams and industry-linked research projects.
    • Support the supervision and mentoring of Honours, Masters, and PhD students.
    • Assist in preparing competitive research grant applications and contribute to externally funded programs.
    • Engage in School activities, outreach, and initiatives that enhance research impact and community engagement.

    About you

    • A PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
    • Demonstrated experience in materials chemistry, carbon capture technologies, critical minerals processing and/or chemical kinetics.
    • A track record of peer-reviewed publications and contribution to high-quality research outputs.
    • Experience working in collaborative or industry-linked research environments.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within interdisciplinary teams.
