    PRIMARY DETAIL

    Join a world-leading digital mental health research clinic and help improve the lives of adults living with neurological conditions. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will contribute to innovative clinical trials and research that advances evidence-based psychological care and expands access to effective digital mental health interventions.

    - Salary Package: From $112,550 (Level A, Step 6 - PhD awarded rate) p.a., plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
    - Appointment Type: Full-time (35 hours per week), fixed-term position for 12 months
    - Location: Faculty of Medicine, Health & Human Sciences at Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus (North Ryde)

    About the Role 
    We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the eCentreClinic of Macquarie University's School of Psychological Sciences. 
     
    In this exciting role, you will contribute to clinical trials and research projects focused on improving the mental health of adults with neurological conditions (e.g., epilepsy, multiple sclerosis). You will provide psychological assessment and therapy, support clinical trial design and management, and contribute to impactful research that advances digital mental health interventions. 
     
    About You 
    You are a dedicated and collaborative psychologist with strong clinical and research experience. You are passionate about working with adults with mental health and/or neurological conditions and thrive in interdisciplinary teams. You bring excellent organisational, communication, and analytical skills, and are committed to advancing evidence-based mental health care. 

     
    Key Responsibilities 

    • Support the development, implementation, and management of clinical trials and intervention programs.

    • Assist in preparing materials for trial operations and ethical approvals.

    • Assist with the delivery of psychological services, including psychological assessment, treatment and report writing.

    • Manage participant data, including entry, analysis, and reporting.

    • Perform administrative tasks such as organising research materials and supporting manuscript preparation.

    • Liaise effectively with external service providers and research stakeholders.

    • Provide advice and support to team members.

    • Contribute to quality improvement activities and maintain accurate records.

    • Ensure confidentiality of participant and staff information.

    • Carry out other duties as required, within your area of competence

    About Us 
    The eCentreClinic is a specialist research unit and not-for-profit initiative within the School of Psychological Sciences at Macquarie University. It is a world-leading digital mental health research clinic, specialising in the design, evaluation, and delivery of online psychological treatments. 
     
    We develop and evaluate free online treatment programs for people experiencing common mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, OCD and PTSD, as well as for people managing chronic health conditions including pain, diabetes, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and heart disease. Participants access these programs via clinical trials, helping us improve treatments for future users. 
     
    The clinic partners with academic, health, and community stakeholders to improve access to effective psychological care across Australia and internationally. The eCentreClinic is part of Macquarie University’s Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences, which is committed to advancing health through integrated research, teaching, and clinical practice. We work closely with the Macquarie University Lifespan Health and Wellbeing Research Centre.

    Essential Selection Criteria 

    • PhD in psychology or a related discipline.

    • Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). 

    • Experience working with adults with mental health and/or neurological conditions.

    • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across diverse teams and stakeholders.

    • Experience with data collection methods (e.g., surveys, interviews, reviews, focus groups).

    • Proficiency in data management and analysis using software such as SPSS, R, or equivalent.

    • Excellent time management, organisational, and verbal and written communication skills. 

    • Excellent project management skills.

     
    Desirable Selection Criteria 

    • Demonstrated involvement in clinical trial research and understanding of trial protocols/ethical requirements.

    • Experience in mental health assessment and treatment of adults with neurological conditions.

    • Familiarity with digital mental health interventions.

    • Knowledge of statistics and health economics.

    • Track record of peer-reviewed publications in a relevant field.
