About This Opportunity
The School of Political Science and International Studies (POLSIS) is seeking an inspiring and innovative educator to join our dynamic teaching team as a Lecturer (Teaching Focused) in Peace and Conflict Studies.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate academic with expertise in Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) to make a significant contribution to teaching excellence within one of Australia's leading political science and international studies schools. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, inspire students through contemporary curriculum design, and engage in evidence-based pedagogical practices. They will also play an important role in supporting student success and contributing to the continued growth and development of the discipline.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, tutorials and workshops/seminars, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules.
Citizenship and Service: Demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

About You
Applicants should possess a PhD or equivalent in Peace and Conflict Studies or a cognate disciplinary area. Additionally, you will demonstrate:
Evidence of high-quality university teaching in Peace and Conflict Studies across a variety of settings, including small and large groups at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
An emerging profile of teaching impact in Peace and Conflict Studies and/or emerging profile in education research in the discipline and/or emerging research profile with high-quality outputs in the discipline.
Participation in projects that improve curriculum, pedagogy, or assessment practices of others.
Participation in curriculum development at the program and/or course level in Peace and Conflict Studies.
Evidence of the involvement in the supervision of honours and Research Higher Degree students (where appropriate) in education research and/or discipline research.
Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in teaching and learning.
A profile of professional expertise that complements and/or supplements the expertise that currently exists within the School and the broader University.
