    • Base salary will be in the range $83,776 - $93,121 + 17% super (HEW Level 5)

    • Based at the Queensland Centre for Children’s Health Research, South Brisbane location

    About This Opportunity

    Be part of a collaborative, inquisitive research environment within the Child Health Research Centre (CHRC), dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of children. The Children’s Health and Environment Program conducts innovative studies examining childhood illnesses, environmental exposures, and resulting health outcomes. As a Research Assistant, you will support a portfolio of impactful projects focused on developing and validating novel lung function techniques. Working closely with the Group Leader of Respiratory Physiology, you will contribute to high-quality data collection, analysis, and research outputs within a multidisciplinary and purpose-driven team committed to creating change together.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Collect lung function data and relevant clinical information across multiple research studies

    • Perform data entry, cleaning and management, ensuring integrity and quality of research datasets

    • Assist with data analysis and the preparation of research outputs including reports, manuscripts and presentations

    • Support the development of research documentation, including ethics and funding applications

    About You

    • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in health sciences, physiology, nursing or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

    • Experience in lung function measurement and an understanding of quality and repeatability principles

    • Experience in a clinical research environment, including patient interaction and biological sample collection

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy

    • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records using digital systems

    • Capability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

    • Familiarity with data analysis tools, statistical software, or manuscript and grant preparation
