About This Opportunity
Join the Greater Brisbane Clinical School and play a pivotal role in shaping high‑quality clinical education experiences for future health professionals. As an Administration Officer, you will be at the centre of clinical skills and simulation‑based teaching and assessment, working in close partnership with academic and professional colleagues across multiple sites. This is a varied, hands‑on role that suits someone who thrives in a collaborative, service‑driven environment and takes pride in enabling teaching excellence through strong organisation, initiative and positive engagement with students and staff.
In line with UQ’s purpose of creating change together, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to student learning and the smooth delivery of complex educational programs.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating clinical skills equipment, staffing and logistics to support teaching and assessment activities across the Greater Brisbane Clinical School.
Supporting simulation‑based education, including administration of the Simulated Patient Program and preparation of equipment and consumables for teaching sessions.
Providing responsive, high‑quality customer service and practical advice to students, academic staff and stakeholders, including guidance on the use of clinical skills equipment.
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, efficiency and the overall teaching and learning experience.
About You
Brings well‑developed administrative and coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic teaching environment.
A strong customer service ethos, demonstrating professionalism, responsiveness and a genuine commitment to supporting students and staff.
Demonstrated capacity to interpret and apply policies, procedures and guidelines accurately and with sound judgement.
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear liaison with academic, professional and external stakeholders.
Works confidently both independently and as part of a collaborative team, taking initiative to resolve issues and meet deadlines.
Experience in student or academic administration within a higher education or similar complex environment will be highly regarded, along with the capacity to undertake the physical requirements of the role.
