    Salary Package: Annual base from $114,992 - $124,676 per annum (HEW 7), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading  

    Appointment Type: Full-time, continuing  

    Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, Dharug land, North Ryde 

    Macquarie University is recruiting an Academic Success Officer (Learning Advisor) to join the dynamic Academic Success team within the Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Education. Academic Success Officers design and deliver academic, digital, and professional literacies initiatives to maximise student success. This professional position includes delivering student-facing concurrent support initiatives, especially to those identified as being most at risk, supporting peer-led support activities, and designing and delivering impactful integrated or embedded workshops for students and/or staff

High-level analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to think strategically and creatively, allow you to respond to student needs and institutional priorities.     About Us 

    The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) is the Chief Academic Officer of the University and is the member of the University Executive with overall responsibility for the planning, quality and delivery of education provided to Macquarie's undergraduate and graduate students. The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) is responsible for the University’s educational endeavour across all aspects of the educational lifecycle, including pathways and access, curriculum and educational capability development, educational outcomes and graduate success.  The PVCE provides leadership in the development and implementation of strategies and programs to support the University’s education mission. The Academic Success team within this portfolio is responsible for the student-facing and staff-facing support to coursework students across the University.

    • Postgraduate qualification in education, teaching, or an academic literacies-related field.  

    • Sustained relevant experience working with domestic and international students individually and in groups to support the development of academic and/or digital literacies and to maximise academic success at university 

    • Demonstrated capability in the end-to-end design and delivery of curricular and co-curricular initiatives in partnership with academics and other stakeholders.  

    • Knowledge of the higher education sector and literature, including legislative and regulatory requirements relating to academic success and support for students.  

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

    • Demonstrated capability to work productively with stakeholders in an exemplary professional, collaborative, and innovative team environment.  

    *Work hours may vary from time to time to accommodate business needs. As this is a student-facing role; it is expected that you will be available to work on campus most days of the week. 

    This role requires a National Police Check Clearance and applicants are preferred to hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or be willing to obtain one.
