    Join a passionate, high-performing and globally connected research program where your expertise will help improve outcomes for critically ill children. The Children’s Intensive Care Research Program (ChIRP), within the Child Health Research Centre, is seeking a purpose-driven Biostatistician to contribute to paediatric intensive care research. Working alongside internationally-recognised multidisciplinary clinicians and researchers, you will play a pivotal role in shaping evidence that improves long-term outcomes for children facing critical illness, including those recovering from paediatric heart surgery and sepsis. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in complex, well-funded projects, collaborate across international networks, and see your work translate into meaningful clinical impact.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Deliver advanced statistical analyses and modelling to support high-impact clinical and health research projects

    • Collaborate closely with clinicians and researchers to design studies, interpret findings, and communicate insights clearly

    • Contribute to research outputs, including publications, grant applications, and technical reports

    • Maintain high standards of data management, documentation, and compliance with ethics and governance requirements

    About You

    You are a curious and collaborative quantitative professional who thrives in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment. You bring both technical excellence and a desire to partner with researchers to drive meaningful outcomes.

    • Completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics or a closely related quantitative discipline with subsequent relevant research experience

    • Demonstrated experience applying statistical methods in clinical or health-related research settings

    • Proficiency in statistical software such as R or STATA

    • Strong ability to translate complex statistical concepts into clear, practical insights for clinicians and researchers

    • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams, ideally in research or clinical environments

    • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities

    • Strong written communication skills, including preparation of reports, manuscripts, and documentation

    • Demonstrated integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality research practices
