- 12 month day rate contract role within UNSW IT
- Lead Peoplesoft Integration Engineer, within Student and Research Solutions
- Kensington based, Sydney, 2 days a week in the office, Hybrid working
The role is responsible for the data and technical architecture, design, delivery, and lifecycle management of complex integration solutions, primarily leveraging established technologies and platforms such as AWS, Azure, and PeopleSoft Integration Broker. The Lead Peoplesoft Integration Engineer has a leading role in the research, analysis and adoption of emerging technologies and platforms to support future integration needs. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role acts as the authoritative subject-matter expert for integration, shaping strategy, setting standards, mentoring staff, and ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable student data exchange across enterprise, cloud, and third-party systems. The role demonstrates end-to-end ownership of the Student Integrations services and platforms, influencing long-term architectural direction and enabling UNSW’s technology strategy. The position reports to the Head of Student Solutions.
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
- Provide enterprise-level leadership for data and integration architecture across the Student Subdomain suit of services and products.
- Manage and govern data and integration standards, patterns, and best practices aligned to UNSW enterprise architecture and integration strategies for the subdomain.
- Act as the senior technical authority and escalation point for complex integration, performance, and security issues.
- Lead the design and delivery of highly complex, mission-critical integration solutions for the subdomain.
- Ensure integration solutions meet performance, scalability, availability, and security requirements.
- Review vendor integration designs and technical proposals to ensure they meet UNSW standards and business needs.
- Monitor the ongoing performance and operation of integrations to ensure they remain efficient and fit for purpose.
- As part of the lifecycle management of our integration solutions, develop plans to evolve legacy integrations to more mature architectures and platforms, reducing technical debt and leading to greater consistency across all our integration services.
- Partner with cloud, infrastructure, security, integration, architecture, and other teams to implement appropriate monitoring, and security controls.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of high-quality documentation, standards, roadmaps, and operational runbooks.
Who you are:
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology (or equivalent), with demonstrated success managing complex integration and applications in large, diverse organisations.
- Proven advanced experience leading the delivery and operation of enterprise-scale integration services.
- Experience integrating large ERPs (preferably PeopleSoft), CRMs (preferably Dynamics 365) with SaaS and cloud-native integration platforms.
- Deep knowledge of Student Information Systems and their associated integration frameworks and standards.
- Strong understanding of typical data sets for key business processes across the entire student academic lifecycle
- Demonstrated experience with the design and development of API based and event-drive integration architectures.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.
- Relevant cloud certifications (AWS or Azure)
- Experience operating within large, federated, or higher education organisations.
- Expert knowledge of integration security and hybrid architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage high performing teams.
