- Remuneration: Level 7 $113,926 - $123,302 (depending on experience) + 17% super + leave loading
- Location: UNSW Kensington Campus, NSW

Why Your Role Matters
As Health & Safety Advisor - Estates & Contractors, you'll play a pivotal role in creating a safe, sustainable and high-performing environment across UNSW's estate and contractor operations. Partnering with leaders and frontline teams, you'll provide expert health and safety advice, drive risk management initiatives, and help shape a proactive safety culture that enables our people and projects to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver frontline health and safety support across estate management and contractor operations.
- Provide expert advice on risk assessments, incident investigations, hazard management and risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct assurance activities including inspections, audits and control verification.
- Coach and support leaders to strengthen safety capability, risk awareness and decision-making.
- Develop and improve health and safety tools, resources, reporting and systems.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and collaborate across teams to deliver tailored safety solutions.
- Identify emerging risks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and transformational projects.
- Support crisis management and emergency response activities when required.
Who You Are
You are a collaborative and solutions-focused health and safety professional who thrives in complex operational environments. With strong technical expertise and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, you're confident providing practical advice, influencing positive safety outcomes and partnering with diverse teams to manage risk effectively.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within complex, high-risk environments.
- Exposure to contractor management, estate management, construction, infrastructure or similar operational settings.
- Strong capability in risk assessment, incident management, investigations and assurance activities.
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience interpreting safety data and using insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of psychosocial and physical risk management, health and wellbeing, and injury prevention.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in health and safety.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach and a passion for creating safer workplaces.
