- Base salary range: $104,243 – $115,661 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) is a high‑profile joint venture between The University of Western Australia and Curtin University, funded by the WA State Government and partner institutions. ICRAR is a leading Australian contributor to the international Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO), one of the largest scientific collaborations in the world.
Within ICRAR, the Astrophotonics Group designs and delivers advanced photonic systems that underpin next‑generation radio and optical astronomy. The team brings together experts in physics, engineering and astronomy to support globally networked research infrastructure and observatory operations.
About the opportunity
- Provide high‑level project coordination and governance support across the SKA MID Project, a complex, multi‑stakeholder international engineering initiative.
- Enable delivery assurance by managing project documentation, schedules, reporting and compliance in line with contractual and organisational requirements.
- Work closely with project leadership, design authorities and multidisciplinary technical teams to ensure accurate information flow, traceable decisions and well‑governed project delivery from development through deployment and operational readiness.
About you
- A relevant tertiary qualification with substantial experience in project coordination, project administration or a related discipline (or equivalent demonstrated capability).
- Proven experience supporting complex engineering or technical projects, including document control, schedule governance, risk and issue tracking, and contract or compliance reporting.
- Highly developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in fast‑paced environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing clear, structured reports and liaising with senior stakeholders and external partners.
- A collaborative, proactive approach, with the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and contribute to continuous improvement of project processes.
