About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Technical Business Analyst to join a high-profile, multi-year Cyber Security Transformation Program at UNSW. The University is accelerating a migration from its legacy SIEM/SOC service to a suite of Next Generation Threat Detection & Response capabilities.

You will play a key role in a complex program with an immediate focus on RFP & Procurement, where you will lead evaluation of vendor responses, scoring, clarifications, and support contract negotiation. The role will then continue to Delivery & Migration phase, transitioning into end-to-end delivery support across design, migration, testing, and operationalisation through to 2027
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical and functional evaluation of vendor proposals across SIEM, SOC, MSSP, EDR, MDR and related services
- Develop evaluation frameworks, scorecards, and vendor comparison models
- Facilitate workshops with business, technical teams, and vendors
- Perform current and future state analysis across cyber security capabilities
- Support data pipeline and SIEM migration planning, including log onboarding
- Define service models, processes, and integration points across vendors
- Drive testing, implementation planning, and cutover readiness
- Uplift runbooks, playbooks, and operational procedures
- Coordinate training and transition to BAU teams
What You Bring (Skills & Experience):
- 7+ years’ experience as a Technical Business Analyst in complex enterprise environments
- Strong experience in cyber security domains (SIEM, SOC, EDR, MDR, Threat Intelligence)
- Proven track record delivering large RFPs and vendor evaluations
- Experience working across multi-vendor, large-scale transformation programs
- Strong demonstrable skills in:
- Requirements and process modelling
- Stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation
- Translating technical concepts into business outcomes
- Experience with security data pipelines (e.g., Cribl, Bindplane)
- Exposure to next-gen SIEM’s, XDR, SOAR, orchestration and automation platforms
If you’re a hands-on self-directed Senior Cyber Security Technical BA with strong technical depth and experience in cyber or complex transformations, we’d love to hear from you.
