    About the position

    The La Trobe Rural Health School is the largest rural health school in Australia, operating across Bendigo, Mildura, Shepparton, Albury-Wodonga, Singapore and online. The school delivers a broad range of programs including dentistry, oral health, nursing, midwifery, paramedicine, pharmacy, biomedical sciences (onshore and offshore), and allied health disciplines, with a strong commitment to rural and regional health outcomes.

    A Level B Teaching and Research academic contributes to high-quality teaching, engages in scholarship and research relevant to Biomedical Sciences, and participates in academic service and administration appropriate to the discipline and level. An academic at this level contributes to teaching, engages in scholarship and research appropriate to the discipline of Biomedical Sciences, and undertakes academic service and administrative responsibilities commensurate with the classification.

    Skills and Experience

    To be considered for this position, you will have:

    • PhD degree or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/Biomedical science profession.
    • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination in face-to-face, hybrid and/or online modes, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.
    • Evidence of high-quality and/or high-impact biomedical research conducted and published or otherwise disseminated, relative to opportunity.
    • Demonstrated commitment to rural health and/or regional science education, including an understanding of workforce, industry or community needs and trends.
