    Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

    We are looking for a Senior Research Programme Coordinator to provide research support in the MBIE Endeavour Research Programme UOA2514 “Future Urban Industry: integrating economic, built and ecological systems for resilient cities” based at Te Herenga Auaha | Faculty of Engineering and Design.

    This role supports the Science Leaders, Prof Paola Boarin, Prof Jacqueline Beggs and Dr Garry McDonald, as well as a diverse transdisciplinary research team, to enable the successful delivery of the planned research and implementation activities. The role will have a strong focus on project administration, coordination, and delivery tracking. It will be responsible for maintaining accurate project records, monitoring finances, and coordinating reporting processes. The role will also support the planning and tracking of key project milestones, and contribute to informed discussions and decision‑making to ensure activities remain aligned with agreed scope, timelines, and budget.

    This is a fixed-term contract until September 2030, part-time, 18.75 hours per week. The salary range for this role is $73,400 – $90,700 prorated per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

    Our ideal candidate will have:

    • Project management skills: you have strong, demonstrable planning, coordination and organisation skills to support the delivery of the Research Programme, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines as well as day-to-day management of all programme details, progress and resourcing, including programme reporting.
    • Financial skills: you have demonstrable experience in financial administration and large budget management, as well as with the use of relevant financial management tools.
    • Flexibility and adaptability: you are able to work collaboratively in an agile environment across various functions and within your team, balancing multiple demands whilst having the autonomy to manage your own workload.
    • Strong people and communication skills: you are able to adapt your communication style to get important messages across a range of internal and external stakeholders from various backgrounds and levels, as well as working with a large and diverse team.
    • Personal interest and motivation: you are passionate about supporting important research that contributes to society.
