The Opportunity
- Full-time (35 hrs week), 2-Year Fixed-Term Contract
- Level 6 salary from $108,0321 or Level 7 salary from $118,483, + 17% super
- Flexible hybrid working and optional 9-day fortnight
Research Grants and Contracts (RGC), within the Division of Research & Enterprise, provides expert research management services that enable impactful research across UNSW. The RGC Post Award team manages more than $450 million in research income annually across approximately 6,000 active research projects, supporting academics and researchers from agreement execution through to project completion.
About the Role
As a Grants Officer – Post Award, you will deliver high-quality research funding management services across all post-award functions. You’ll work closely with academics, research support staff and finance teams to ensure research grants and contract research projects are managed effectively and in line with sponsor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage post-award research activities
- Provide advice on funding rules, policies and procedures
- Monitor sponsor reporting and compliance obligations
- Identify and resolve grant management issues and risks proactively
- Contribute to continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives

You will bring
At Level 6, you will have experience and transferable skills in administration or project support, and an interest in learning about post award management. You will also demonstrate:
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- The ability to interpret policies and procedures
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Level 7
In addition to the Level 6 capabilities, at Level 7 you will bring significant experience (2+ years) providing post-award management services in a similar role. You will also demonstrate:
- Experience in managing complex grant matters independently
- Experience providing specialist advice on funding compliance and policy interpretation
- The capability to mentor and support colleagues
Appointments may be made at either Level 6 or Level 7 depending on skills and experience.
