PRIMARY DETAIL

Clinical research governance and regulatory support for MQ Health and Macquarie University

  • Salary Package: HEW 6 circa $96, 273 (negotiable) per annum, plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading

  • Appointment Type: Full time, fixed term two years

  • Macquarie University (Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde)

The Role

This role is responsible for assessing clinical research governance applications to ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements. It involves providing advice to researchers and clinicians on a range of clinical projects, including clinical trials, innovations, audits, and data registries. The position provides secretariat supports to the Clinical Innovation Research and Audit Committee (CIRAC), including preparing activity reports. Additionally, the role involves making significant contributions to strategic projects in collaboration with key stakeholders to improve governance workflows and other initiatives.

About You

Ideally you have experience in a similar role with knowledge of the regulatory framework underpinning clinical research, including the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, Research Governance Handbook and Therapeutic Goods legislation. You will have acquired this experience within a university, hospital, clinical, or government research environment. You are skilled in interpreting complex regulatory information and your highly developed communication and interpersonal skills enable you to effectively convey this information succinctly to others and provide sound and dependable advice. You enjoy process support and working with data, and value the challenge and development opportunities of process improvement. You are keen to join a friendly team that supports a growing and exciting clinical research endeavour associated with an academic health sciences centre.

Essential Criteria

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in medical science, or a relevant field and/or significant relevant experience. Postgraduate qualification will be well regarded.

  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework underpinning clinical research, including the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, Therapeutic Goods legislation, and Good Clinical Practice.

  • Experience providing advice on regulatory frameworks and policies in a research management environment

  • Project management experience including, formal reporting, and committee support

  • Providing administration and secretariat support including reporting in a research management context

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
