Macquarie University is seeking atalented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to develop embedded software for radio and communication systems. This is a fabulous opportunity to join the newly established Silicon Platforms Lab (SiP Lab) within the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Macquarie University.

What you’ll do as a Senior Software Engineer in the SiP Lab

  • Develop embedded software for radio and communications systems.

  • Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures.

  • Develops prototype software systems for proof of concept studies.

  • Maintains proficiency with the specific programming languages and software systems (commercial and public domain) used by the software group.

About Us

The Faculty of Science and Engineering offers both undergraduate and postgraduate Degree programs across a diverse range of disciplines. The Faculty is also home to a number of world-class research centres. The Faculty continues to grow links with industry by building partnerships with commercial, government, cultural and professional organisations.

The SiP Lab is a newly formed, advanced hardware platforms and silicon chip design lab with advanced silicon system-on-chip (SoC) / system-in-package (SiP) capabilities. The research focuses on key semiconductor industry trends in communications and sensing, as well as partnering with adjacent research teams across the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the wider University to integrate their own novel IP onto a silicon platform, with benefits anticipated in the fields of synthetic biology, photonics, and quantum technologies.

How to Apply

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree or diploma in software engineering and extensive experience (6+ years) working in the specialised discipline.

  • Contributing highly specialist technical knowledge and expertise to complex and multi-faceted project proposals and reviewing technical specifications and reports.

  • Providing technical leadership to technical projects to solve complex technical and/or engineering problems.

  • Developing, managing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Taking a lead role in ensuring a safe work environment and a culture of safety.

  • Your experience developing software for embedded systems.
