THE ROLE

We invite your expression of interest for several exciting casual teaching opportunities coming up over the course of 2024, to support the delivery of a range of units of study at Macquarie University College.

The Macquarie University College within Macquarie University, is currently inviting expressions of interest from appropriately qualified and experienced people to teach in the College’s courses during the day and/or evening. Appointed casual teachers are expected to prepare and deliver lessons, prepare and mark assessments, supervise in-class assessments and examinations, manage and submit results, undertake student consultation, closely monitor student progress and attendance, participate in meetings, and liaise with staff.

About You  

Key Competencies:  

To deliver Macquarie University College units, a teacher must fulfill the following requirements: 

  • Hold a minimum of a 3-year bachelor degree in a relevant discipline area listed below. Postgraduate degree is preferable.

  • Have at least two years of teaching experience, especially in a pathway space. 

  • Expertise in teaching one or more of the areas below: 

    • Arts

    • Business Statistics/Mathematics

    • Critical Thinking

    • Economics

    • Engineering

    • Marketing and Management

    • Media

    • Information Technology, especially specialised in Processing and Java Programming, Database Modelling and SQL, Video Game Design, Cyber Security, Business Information Systems, Digital Intelligence

    • Physics

Desired Criteria: 

Preference will be given to applicants with higher relevant degrees and/or more relevant teaching experience. 

Successful Expressions of Interest will be kept on file and may be considered by the College when a vacancy arises that is an appropriate match to their skill base, disciplinary background and availability.
