PRIMARY DETAIL

• Appointment Type: Casual
• Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus (North Ryde)
• Salary Package: $55.27 per hour (HEW 5) (incl. 25% salary loading), plus 11% employer’s superannuation
• Project ending 30 November 2024

THE ROLE

This position is in the Department of Critical Indigenous Studies within the Faculty of Arts.  This position is required to support an MQRAS Project titled “Indigenous Literary Studies in Higher Education: Exploring the Australian context and learning from global relatives”.

The applicant must have high level research skills and knowledge as well as a proven record of work with and for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities demonstrating good relations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supporting research team to undertake ethics application, desk top reviews, data analysis and logistical coordination of research activities

  • Provide administrative support to research project (excel creation, word processing and liaising with participants)

  • Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander scholars, community members and teachers

  • Contribute to publication and research dissemination

Rates of Pay: 


A Research Assistant (HEW5) will be paid the appropriate rate dependent on qualification set out in Schedule 2: Casual Professional hourly rates of pay of the Professional Staff Enterprise Agreement, including 25% casual loading.

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who has experience engaging with educational research. Experience working in academia is desirable but not essential. The applicant will be someone who is enthusiastic about Indigenous Studies and research and interested in joining a dynamic award-winning team of Indigenous researchers.

The Department of Critical Indigenous Studies within the Faculty of Arts, is an Indigenous led department comprising of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander academics, researchers and professional staff.
