PRIMARY DETAIL

Salary Package: $93,017 (HEW Level 6), plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading
Appointment Type: Full time, Continuing role
Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, Dharug land, North Ryde

THE ROLE

The Student Programs Officer will be providing advice and administrative support to students and staff involved in student programs, committees, clubs, and societies, and will be contributing to the improvement of service delivery in orientation, transition initiatives and other major student events.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide administrative, project and program coordination support to the 1st Year Experience and Peer Programs team.

  • Coordinate peer programs to facilitate peer engagement, belonging and success within the commencement cohort.

  • Support the induction, engagement and ongoing development of student leaders involved in peer programs at university wide level.

  • Provide coordination and administration support to various peer programs, such as record keeping, budget monitoring, financial administration, scheduling, and other administrative requirements. Research and collate information to support the development of strategic goals of student commencement and transition.

  • Review and maintain the Student Engagement website, including content development.

  • Provide technical and systems support for the established peer programs.

  • Perform regular data collection and analysis, to provide reports that support the continuous review and improvement of Student experience at commencement level.

  • Prepare relevant documentation (presentations, reports, agendas, minutes) as required.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement improvements to data collection, administrative systems, processes, and procedures.

  • Comply with relevant EEO and WHS regulations.

  • Perform any other duties as required and appropriate for this classification.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) is the Chief Academic Officer of the University and is the member of the University Executive with overall responsibility for the planning, quality and delivery of education provided to Macquarie's undergraduate and graduate students.

This position sits within the Dean of Students (part of the Office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic) which has overall responsibility for student support services and student experience including Student Engagement, Equity, Diversity and Belonging, Complaints and Misconduct and Student Wellbeing Services.

Selection Criteria

  • Degree or equivalent experience in business or related discipline.

  • Knowledge of the Australian higher education system.

  • Knowledge of student/customer engagement projects and programs.

  • Knowledge of the University's policies and processes relating to student groups, committees, clubs, and societies.

  • Experience contributing to continuous service improvement and transformation initiatives.

  • Extensive experience successfully administering, coordinating, and implementing student events and engagement initiatives.

  • Experience analysing and reporting on data and complex business processes.

  • Strong customer service focus and ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
