Director, Strategic Procurement

The Director, Strategic Procurement is accountable for all phases of procurement taking custodianship of an end-to-end centre-led operating model with strong executive support. This is an essential leadership position charged with ensuring procurement strategy development and execution align with broader organisational objectives.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Procurement and Business Services, this position will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality procurement strategy, governance integrity, commercial best value, and executive quality reporting.

- A strong track record of diverse, high quality, fit for purpose sourcing strategy execution.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, extending to senior executives, business unit leaders, and key suppliers.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic insight and detailed inquiry to project, program and portfolio oversight.
- Exceptional engagement and communications skills.
- Proven capability to prioritise and adapt to deliver outstanding operational and commercial outcomes in a complex environment.
- Achieve best value strategic sourcing outcomes, measured through bottom line benefits, cost avoidance, performance improvements, and sustained business benefit.
The requirements to succeed, in this role are:
- Significant Strategic Procurement experience and sound knowledge and understanding of contemporary strategic procurement approaches.
- Ability to effectively develop, communicate and present complex business case / procurement strategy proposals.
- Ability to take responsibility for delivery of programs of work that are impactful at an organisational level.
- Demonstrated capacity to collaborate and maintain strong and productive relationships with supply partners, teams, peers and stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly developed consulting, interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated capacity for analytical and conceptual thought in the diagnosis of problems and in providing innovative, timely, relevant and practical solutions.
- Strong consultative capability and the ability to consistently offer expert commercial and strategic procurement advice to achieve best value outcomes.
- Develop effective and efficient procurement process, track, measure and report procurement effectiveness.
- Identification of commercial and operational efficiency improvement opportunities. Manage implementation.
- Oversee the financial interface of procurement, ensuring budgetary compliance, and providing regular reports to senior management.
