Talent Acquisition Associate

  • Employment Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week
  • Duration: Continuing
  • Remuneration: Broadband 6/7, Level 6 from $100,354, Level 7 from $110,073 plus 17% super
  • Working rights: Australian/New Zealand citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
  • Location: Kensington, NSW (Hybrid Flexible Working, 2 days on-campus)

We’re seeking a Talent Acquisition Associate with a passion for finding top talent to join our close-knit, growing, and high-performing TA team. Based within our People and Culture Talent Acquisition Team, this role predominantly supports recruitment for the UNSW Faculty of Medicine & Health, who are not only one of Australia’s leading medical faculties, but one of the top 50 in the world, evidenced in our schools, world-class research centres and institutes, our affiliations with Australia’s most innovative medical research institutes, and our state-of-the-art teaching hospitals and facilities.

As the TA Associate, you will be a proactive team player with recruitment experience and a strong customer focus. You will support hiring managers meet their recruitment requirements by providing a 360-recruitment service, from job brief to onboarding. In this unique and rewarding opportunity you will help candidates secure their dream jobs and equally play a crucial role in shaping our ongoing success as a leading teaching and research university.

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Consultant for this area, you will be joining an established Talent Acquisition function with a wealth of knowledge to learn from.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities as a Level 6:

  • Coordinate and deliver full end-to-end coordination and generalist support across the recruitment life cycle, ensuring a positive and seamless recruitment experience for candidates and hiring managers.
  • Assist Talent Acquisition Consultants in working with clients to identify their leadership/professional recruitment needs and develop appropriate recruitment strategies for each assignment.
  • Provide recruitment and selection support and advice to clients, stakeholders, and peers, delivering excellent candidate management throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Use a broad range of mediums to engage candidates, including social media, proactive sourcing, database searches, etc., for active and passive candidates.
  • Provide resourcing support across the Talent Acquisition team.

Accountabilities as a Level 7 (In addition to the above):

  • Provide recruitment and selection advice to clients, stakeholders, and peers regarding attraction and advertising strategies, candidate management, behavioural interviewing, reference checking, and pre-employment checks.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment processes on more complex roles.
  • Identify and implement unique recruitment strategies.
  • Confidently manage academic recruitment processes.
  • Step into a Talent Acquisition Consultant capacity during times of leave or as required.

Who You Are

Skills and experience required as a Level 6:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in a relevant discipline, and a minimum of 2 years of experience as a recruitment consultant.
  • Demonstrated talent acquisition experience managing end-to-end recruitment lifecycles, ideally within an internal environment.
  • Exceptional candidate management and stakeholder engagement capability.
  • Previous experience in a recruitment environment (within the Health sector is highly desirable).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Personable approach and proactive attitude, comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Experience with PageUp or recruitment systems beneficial but not essential.
  • Customer-focused with demonstrated experience providing high-quality service in a professional environment.

Skills and experience required as a Level 7 (In addition to the above):

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with significant experience as a recruitment consultant with a mix of agency and in-house exposure.
  • Demonstrated success in a Recruitment Consultant role with exposure to recruiting at entry to mid-management level roles with a strong understanding of volume recruitment.
  • Experience working in end-to-end recruitment, including onboarding and induction.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the delivery of contemporary recruitment, selection, and talent pool attraction strategies.

Progression Criteria

Advancement to a higher level within a broad-banded position is not automatic and requires the endorsement of your supervisor and approval from Senior Management. The following criteria must be met before progression can be approved:

  • You will be expected to have reached the top step of Level 6 prior to progression to Level 7.
  • You have been at the top step of Level 6 for 12 months prior to progression to Level 7.
  • Criteria for progression to Level 7 will be based on satisfactory performance of all responsibilities and behaviours at Level 6, and a demonstrated capacity and ability to take on the responsibilities and behaviours of the position at Level 7.
  • Work at Level 7 is available and required by the work unit on an ongoing basis.
