The School comprises three Departments and 10 disciplines across La Trobe’s multi campus operations and has an outstanding reputation for research excellence, research translation and for building strong relationships with industry partners.

In the discipline of Social Work and Social Policy at La Trobe, our mission is to provide quality teaching and research for better care and social justice. Social Work and Social Policy has delivered high quality social work programs for the past 45 years. Our well-established model of blended learning entails subject teams working together across five La Trobe campuses. We also offer the innovative MSW (Child and Family Practice) and the Graduate Certificate in Child Protection, as well PhD, doctorate and masters supervision.

We have embedded our theoretical framework into our implicit and explicit curriculum across all our courses. Social Work and Social Policy at La Trobe University provides an outstanding research environment and we encourage and mentor staff to grow their skills and expertise.
