About the opportunityThe Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is a key contributor to Southern Cross University’s purpose: Changing lives through revolutionary learning and research with real impact. We are seeking experienced Educational Designers to join the CTL, collaborating with academic staff to design, develop, and review high-quality online and blended units within the Southern Cross Model. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Use universal design principles to support the development of engaging, student-centered curricula for diverse learners.
- Support the enhancement of assessment and feedback practices to maintain academic standards.
- Contribute to the identification and integration of innovative, technology-driven learning practices to advance teaching and learning at Southern Cross University.
- Provide guidance, workshops, and technical support to staff on best practices in educational design, online pedagogy, and curriculum development.
To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive, innovative professional with a deep understanding of educational design and online learning. You will bring a collaborative approach and a passion for creating effective, engaging learning experiences. Specifically, you will have:
- A degree qualification (or higher) and at least 3 years of experience in educational design within higher education.
- Experience with universal design principles and designing synchronous/asynchronous online learning materials.
- Proficiency with educational technologies, LMS, multimedia, and authoring tools.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to and coordinating educational design projects, supporting multiple stakeholders and meeting time-sensitive goals.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a talent for building positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to develop fast, effective solutions in a complex environment.

- Full-time, continuing (permanent)
- Located at either Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480. Generous relocation support available.
- HEW Level 6. The base salary ranges from $92,716 - $101,691 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $118,978.
