About the Role
The Centre for Youth Mental Health, in partnership with Orygen, is seeking a Project and Lab Manager to join an innovative team driving advancements in artificial intelligence for youth mental healthcare. This role will be pivotal in managing projects within the lab, including establishing and running the National Critical Research Infrastructure initiative, supporting lab operations, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, and grant administration. As a foundational team member, you will contribute to cutting-edge research, clinical trials, and the development of AI-driven medical devices, all within a collaborative and inclusive culture dedicated to improving youth mental health globally.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with lab management, project strategy, and budgeting
- Planning and monitoring projects
- Contracts & agreement management
- Effective collaboration with collaborators in projects to foster effective partnerships;
Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a collaborative and creative mindset to address the youth mental health crisis. They demonstrate excellent organisational and project management abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to effectively prioritise tasks while fostering relationships with stakeholders in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
You will also have:
- A degree qualification in business management, product management, finance, psychology, neuroscience, biomedical sciences or a related discipline.
- Ability to plan and organise own time and that of others to prioritise tasks and achieve project outcomes.
- Experience of supervising or co-supervising research support staff.
- Experience in the use of Case Report Forms, source data verification and protocol compliance monitoring.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
