Established in 2017, the Division of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion aims to create an inclusive campus for all students and staff to reach their full academic and career potential. The Division works with students and staff across UNSW to evolve a culture that embraces equity and supports a diverse and inclusive community through strategic policies, initiatives, training programs and events.

Student equity is part of UNSW’s commitment to a just society as well as a central theme in the UNSW 2025 Strategic vision. Our Students as Partners initiatives prioritise mutually beneficial collaborations with current University students and staff.

The Students as Partners Consultative Group involves undergraduate and postgraduate university students, who represent their communities, and who want to influence university projects and initiatives.

We are looking for current UNSW students, who are committed to providing insight to University projects, initiatives and campaigns. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and specifically encourage applications from people of diverse gender, sexual orientation, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, people with disability, mature aged and those with caring and family responsibilities.

As a member you will:

  • Examine and discuss a range of programs, projects and initiatives from faculties, divisions and work areas across UNSW.

  • Draw on the experiences of your community to provide constructive feedback to UNSW staff.

  • Work collaboratively with other students in the SPCG, providing reflective and practical solutions for and observations of various issues from across the University.

  • Access training, support and leadership development aligned to UNSW Graduate Attributes

Please carefully read through the Students as Partners Consultative Group Position Description below including the responsibilities and selection criteria, before applying for the program.

UNSW is committed to equity diversity and inclusion. Applications from women, people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, those living with disabilities, members of the LGBTIQ+ community; and people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent, are encouraged. UNSW provides workplace adjustments for people with disability, and access to flexible work options for eligible staff. The University reserves the right not to proceed with any appointment.
