Working at CQUniversity

Work as part of CQUniversity’s growing Business Intelligence and Analytics team to facilitate data-driven decision making across the organisation. You will be an integral part of a small, supportive and vibrant team that is creating and maintaining data assets across a range of cutting-edge technologies.

In this role, you will develop and deliver BI capabilities that drive decision-making and operational efficiency across the University. You will be responsible for enhancing our data and analytics infrastructure, including data integration, ETL processes, and multidimensional data models. Your expertise will support strategic initiatives, improve performance, and create operational efficiencies.  

You will develop and maintain corporate BI and analytics tools, enhance the University's Data Warehouse and reporting tools, and collaborate with senior management to identify BI priorities. Additionally, you will champion data-driven decision-making and strategic planning.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within an enterprise grade data warehousing using a combination of data vault and dimensional models, developing self-service reporting and compelling dashboards, as well as contributing toward continuous service improvement and uplift to new cloud platforms.

Position Requirements

• Significant experience in the Business Intelligence Development Cycle using the Microsoft BI Stack or similar toolsets. 
• Highly developed SQL skills and demonstrated experience in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) stored procedures. 
• Demonstrated skills in the design and development of relational, dimensional, multidimensional and tabular models, including MDX, DAX or similar programming skills.  
• In depth knowledge of the principles and methodologies of modern Data Warehousing. 
• Sound knowledge of Data Visualisation and Data Analytics principles, methodologies and contemporary techniques and technologies. 
• In depth knowledge of and understanding of the software development lifecycle within large enterprise level organisations. 
• Ability to contribute significantly working within a team environment, mentoring other team members as required. 
• A degree with at least four years subsequent relevant experience; or extension experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
