Key Responsibilities

 

  • Managing the University’s relationship with the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
  • Leading a team that manages all TEQSA and ASQA related processes and requirements and which develops action plans in response to any matters emerging from these.
  • Providing high-level support and strategic advice to facilitate university compliance with higher education and VET standards frameworks by leading and managing processes relating to legislative and compliance requirements and educating staff on these requirements.
  • Leading the facilitation of good practice and regulatory compliance through assurance of academic staff scholarly activity, vocational and industry currency, appropriate scholarly activity, assurance of external referencing assessment and professional accreditation of activities by Schools, and support for Communities of Practice.
  • Ensuring robust operation of internal accreditation and approval mechanisms.
  • Leading the development of policy regarding the assurance of learning and teaching quality and compliance with tertiary education regulations.

Position Requirements

 

  • Demonstrated expert working knowledge of Higher Education Standards Frameworks (Threshold Standards) 2015, and Standards for RTOs (2015), National Code (2007) and how they impact and influence the operations of a higher education provider.
  • Demonstrated expert working knowledge of professional accreditation requirements and schemes.
  • Demonstrated expert working knowledge of quality management and continuous improvement frameworks and concepts.
  • Possession of a postgraduate degree, with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Successful assessment of a Fit and Proper Person Declaration under the Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 (Cth) (RTO Standards).
