About the Role
The Director, Master of Public Health is an important leadership role within the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health suite of education programs. The Master of Public Health is a flagship course at the University of Melbourne that is currently delivered in a dual delivery mode, in addition to a soon-to-be launched fully online mode. This position will lead and coordinate the ongoing delivery and quality assurance of our longstanding and high-quality dual delivery Master of Public Health, along with the new Melbourne Online Master of Public Health program. Whilst largely a leadership and management role, a direct teaching component is expected, alongside the supervision of capstone, honours, Masters and/or PhD students as required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the development and delivery of the existing Master of Public Health, and the new Melbourne Online Master of Public Health programs
- Coordinating the preparation and delivery of evidence-informed lectures and seminars
- Contribution to the oversight, development and implementation of teaching and learning policies in the School, ensuring adherence across the teaching academic community
Who We Are Looking For
You possess teaching and learning qualifications or significant tertiary education experience, particularly in health promotion, public health, or a related discipline, together with strong evidence of a commitment to continuous improvement in education. You demonstrate original intellectual contributions to public health education and excel in developing innovative learning strategies. With excellent organisational and project management skills, you have successfully collaborated with multiple stakeholders to achieve effective teaching and learning outcomes.
You bring excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and coordination skills, enabling you to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, and grow and develop successful working relationships. Additionally, your ability to work independently and collaboratively, coupled with persistence in problem-solving, ensures the achievement of project goals and deadlines with high quality outputs.
You will also have:
- A PhD qualification in a public health or related health specialisation, together with appropriate teaching and research experience
- Experience in the supervision or co-supervision and mentoring of postgraduate students and other staff where appropriate
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team to achieve project goals and meet deadlines

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
