Data Analyst (Perinatal Imaging Research Group)

  • Employment Type: Part - time (14 hours a week)
  • Duration: Fixed Term until 31st July 2025
  • Remuneration: $110,073 base prorated (+17% super and leave loading)
  • Working rights: Full Australian working rights for duration of the contract.
  • Location: Royal Hospital for Women, Randwick, Sydney.

Why this role matters:

The role of Data Analyst will assist with the data management and analysis of the fetal and placental ultrasound scanning research program conducted by the Perinatal Imaging Research Group (PIRG) at UNSW. This will include using various statistical techniques to generate analysis on factors affecting stillbirth in normal and high-risk pregnancies.

Some key skills required:

  • Post-graduate/PHD qualifications (or nearing completion).
  • Experience in conduct of research, preferably in a maternity healthcare setting.
  • Experience with ethical requirements for storage and analysis of data (including use of databases such as RedCap).
  • Understanding of and familiarity with the role of ultrasound imaging in maternity care.
  • Ability to accurately search medical literature, devise novel research questions and initiate independent original research projects.
  • Advanced skills in statistical software (e.g., R, STATA, SQL) for data management and statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently develop and execute high level statistical analysis and data manipulation plans for reports and projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze small to medium health data sets.
  • Demonstrated skills in research design, method investigation and data interpretation.
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking independent research including the preparation of published peer-reviewed manuscripts for well-respected journals and/or government reports.
