About the opportunitySouthern Cross University’s Student Support team is seeking a Triaging Officer to provide efficient, student-centred support for a range of student services. As the primary contact for student inquiries, you will play a critical role in connecting students with the resources they need to thrive. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the role is essential to supporting the university’s commitment to student success and wellbeing. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the primary point of contact for student support, liaising with students and referring agencies.
- Facilitating triage and referrals, prioritising cases based on individual needs.
- Managing appointment schedules, coordinating student bookings, and maintaining accurate records.
- Supporting service improvements by collecting data, contributing to reports, and updating service materials.
You are organised, empathetic, and excel in a fast-paced, student-focused environment. Your communication skills and attention to detail allow you to manage complex cases with sensitivity and efficiency. More specifically, you will have:
- A relevant qualification (Certificate level) and at least two years of experience in an administrative or customer service role.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Experience in a customer-focused triage or case management environment, including scheduling and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems and platforms.
- A commitment to cultural diversity, equity, and workplace safety.

- Full-time, continuing (permanent).
- Located at Lismore, NSW 2480.
- HEW Level 4. The base salary ranges from $72,947 - $78,337 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $91,654.
